On the infrageneric classification of Pinguicula

Abstract

In this article, the morphology-based 'traditional' infrageneric classification of the genus Pinguicula is opposed to 'modern', phylogeny-based concepts. But concepts are compared and illustrated, and a new infrageneric concept of four sections for the Central American evolutionary linage of Pinguicula is proposed.
