Abstract
The complex of taxa associated with Sarracenia rubra Walter has long been embroiled in controversy, with many scientists having different perspectives on how the plant should be interpreted. In part, this is because the plants have an interesting, patchy distribution throughout the southeastern USA. Sarracenia rubra subsp. viatorum is described.
